SIAMKICK Muay Thai Shorts Review: Are They Worth the Hype?

Finding the right Muay Thai shorts is a lot harder than it should be. I’ve tried big-name brands like Fairtex and Twins, and while they’re solid, I was looking for something that felt a little different… perhaps something with a bit more edge and purpose. That’s when I came across SIAMKICK.

What caught my eye first?

The designs. Bold, sharp, and modern, but still rooted in that classic Muay Thai style. Then I read about their mission, how they give back to struggling gyms in Thailand, with a portion of the sales going towards supporting young fighters. That sealed it for me. It felt as if I wasn’t just buying shorts but also was supporting a purpose.

All that’s left is to see how the quality compares to the bigger brands out there.

Unboxing and First Impressions

I went for the “Black Ops” design, which I think is one of their best sellers, clean but aggressive. When the shorts arrived, the quality was obvious. The material had that perfect balance of soft and sturdy, with a nice sheen that looked even better in person.

Every stitch was flawless, and the attention to detail exceeded my expectations. No loose threads whatsoever. Plus, knowing these were made in Thailand added that extra layer of authenticity.

How Do They Fit?

I used the sizing guide on their product page and got a perfect fit. From my experience with Muay Thai shorts, I’d say go a size up from your usual. The sizing is similar to Fairtex’s, only a tad bit shorter (which I love). The waistband was snug without feeling tight, and the wide leg openings made a huge difference.

Whether I was throwing kicks, moving in clinch, or just shadowboxing, I never felt restricted.

There’s a “360MOTION” design (fancy term, but it actually works). The shorts moved with me, never against me. No riding up, no bunching, and they stayed light even after a tough, sweaty session.

Performance in Training

I’ve been training in these for a few weeks now, and they’ve held up better than most shorts I’ve owned. The reinforced stitching is legit. These feel like they will last a lifetime. No signs of wear, even after multiple washes. They’re super lightweight and dry fast, which is perfect since I’m training almost every day.

What I didn’t expect was how comfortable they’d be during long sessions. Some shorts get heavy when soaked in sweat, but these stay light and breathable the whole time.

The Buying Experience

Ordering was simple. Shipping was quick. The sizing guide was clear and most importantly, accurate. There were also reviews from previous buyers, showing the size they bought, as well as their weight and height, which I appreciated because it saved me from guessing. They also offer a free 30-day return policy.

Price and Value

At $46, these shorts feel like a steal. The quality matches (or even beats) some of the bigger brands that charge way more. And knowing that part of my money goes toward supporting fighters makes it feel like money well spent.

Final Thoughts

If you're on the fence, I’d say go for it. These shorts have definitely exceeded my expectations in almost every way. From the bold, unique designs to the top-notch quality and performance, they really stand out in a crowded market.

I’m not sure if the price will go up in the future, but at $46, they’re easily the best value I’ve found compared to other brands I’ve tried. If you're looking for something fresh and different in the world of Muay Thai gear, SIAMKICK is definitely worth checking out!
